Ribeira Funda is located between the parishes of Seixal and Porto Moniz. It is a hidden location and surrounded by the Laurissilva forest where in the past the families who lived there had to climb 800 steps on a dangerous path embedded in the rock to get home.
After 2006 a road was built with tunnels and a bridge that allows us to arrive by car.
This canyoning is intended for those who have practiced the activity before and want to experience a more advanced level.
In this canyoning, in addition to the technical component, we can observe several species of Madeiran flora, such as Barbosano Apollonias barbujana and Rosa de Pedra Echeveria elegans. During the descent we have to cross 10 rappels, the largest being 55 meters long and ending with the last rappel of 25 meters where the backdrop is the Atlantic Ocean.
Certainly this canyoning will awaken sensations that you never imagined to achieve.
